Fabrications

Exhibition run
9th December 2011- 3rd March 2012

An exhibition that presents artworks of artists from across the region who have looked at the vocabulary of fabric as skin, not just as the idea of covering, and used these as sites for producing contemporary art. It will be the light from the window, the structure on which it clings, the transparency, the people, their movement, their stillness, their humid bodies, the sound of passing that will make the work. Bleed Suite carries the underlying motif of the body. Blood recalls its temperature and delineates space. As in most of Palomar’s work, senses are heightened by the displacement of organic elements in unnatural habitats. Re-action (or the lack of it) sets the tempo for a steady, leisurely waltz.

Participating artists: Dexter Fernandez, Jane Lee, Diokno Pasilan, Patricia Perez Eustaquio, Sandra Palomar, Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, Imhathai Suwathanasilp, and Bea Camacho.
