On February 27, Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) opened the exhibition entitled Play Studies. Initially called Toy Box, this project was conceived by director Andres Morte and inspired by The Festival of Arts “Fabbrica Europa”, a workshop held in May 2010 in Florence, Italy that brought together 18 artists from Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Tunisia.

Renamed Play Studies, the project has members of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s School of Design and Arts faculty as participants. By utilizing the same concept of interaction among various artistic disciplines and building new communities, Play Studies will give these teachers the opportunity to develop new methodologies and works, and students the opportunity to witness creations of their own professors. The exhibition features installations and performances by Mark Antiqueno, Martin de Mesa, Walther Ocampo, Agnes Macasaet, Adriel Pena, Rianne Soriano, Vincent Louie Tan, and Jason Vitorillo. Through various forms of interactive pieces, the formation and exchange of ideas, and transversal connections between people can be accomplished.
