MCAD Film Screenings: January 2018

Happy New Year! We’re excited to start off the year with our first set of films for January.

How a city is built, inscribed, remembered and by whom, and the movement within and without this space are explored in this mix of feature and documentary films.

Co-presented with the Philippine Italian Association, Hands Over the City is an award-winning film (Golden Lion, 1963 Venice Film Festival) which tells the story of political corruption in post-World War II Italy. In Stalker, (winner of the Ecumenical Prize, 1980 Cannes Film Festival) a mysterious figure leads two clients to an expedition to “The Zone”, a restricted post-apocalyptic site which supposedly has the ability to fulfill a person’s innermost desires. Urbanized, is part of The Design Trilogy by Gary Hustwit. The documentary looks at the design of cities, issues and strategies behind urban design, and features some of the world’s foremost architects, planners, policymakers, builders, and thinkers.

The screenings will be held on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays of January, inside the MCAD Multimedia Room, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde SDA Campus. All screenings are FREE and open to the public.
